Gonzalo Ignacio Abascal Muñoz (born 27 December 1990) is a Chilean former professionalfootballer who played as adefender.
A product ofUniversidad Católica youth system,[1] Abascal started his career with Chilean second-tier sideMagallanes, helping them reach the2011 Copa Chile final.[2] and winning the league title of theTercera A in 2010.[3] Before the 2012 season, Abascal signed forRangers (Talca) in the Chilean top flight,[4] where he made three league appearances and scored 0 goals.[2] On 25 February 2012, he debuted forRangers (Talca) during a 3–0 loss toCobreloa.[2] In 2013, Abascal returned to Chilean second-tier clubMagallanes.[5] After playing for Magallanes, he had decided to retire from football,[1] until he signed forPascoe Vale in the Australian second tier.[6]
