The main ingredients used to make Mangalore bajji includemaida,curd,gram flour,rice flour, choppedonion,coriander leaves,coconut,jeera, greenchillies, curry leaves, andsalt. The ingredients are thoroughly mixed to form a hard batter, then shaped into a small ball and deep fried, preferably incoconut oil. It is often served withchutney.

The dish is usually served warm withcoconut chutney .[7]
