Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston is aburgh constituency of theScottish Parliament which will elect oneMember of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by thefirst past the post method of election.[2] Under theadditional-member electoral system used for elections to the Scottish Parliament, it is also one of eight constituencies in theGlasgow electoral region, which elects seven additional members, in addition to eight constituency MSPs, to produce a form ofproportional representation for the region as a whole.[3] The seat was created at thesecond periodic review of Scottish Parliament boundaries in 2025, and will be first contested at the2026 Scottish Parliament election. It covers areas that were formerly within the constituencies ofGlasgow Baillieston andGlasgow Shettleston, which were abolished as a result of this review.[4]

The other seven constituencies of the Glasgow region areGlasgow Anniesland,Glasgow Cathcart and Pollok,Glasgow Central,Glasgow Easterhouse and Springburn,Glasgow Kelvin and Maryhill,Glasgow Southside, andRutherglen and Cambuslang.[3] The region covers most of theGlasgow City council area, and a north-western portion of theSouth Lanarkshire council area.[5]

Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston is one of the eight constituencies covering the Glasgow City council area: Glasgow Anniesland, Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston, Glasgow Cathcart and Pollok, Glasgow Central, Glasgow Easterhouse and Springburn, Glasgow Kelvin and Maryhill, Glasgow Southside, andRenfrewshire North and Cardonald (the latter also covering part of theRenfrewshire council area).[6] The followingelectoral wards were used to defined Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston:[2]
