Glasgow is one of the eightelectoral regions of theScottish Parliament. Nine of the parliament's 73first past the postconstituencies are sub-divisions of the region and it elects seven of the 56additional-memberMembers of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs). Thus it elects a total of 16 MSPs.
As a result of theSecond Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament Boundaries the boundaries for the region and constituencies were redrawn for the2026 Scottish Parliament election. The regions covers the eight constituencies ofGlasgow Anniesland,Glasgow Baillieston and Shettleston,Glasgow Cathcart and Pollok,Glasgow Central,Glasgow Easterhouse and Springburn,Glasgow Kelvin and Maryhill,Glasgow Southside, andRutherglen and Cambuslang. The region covers most of theGlasgow City council area, and a north-western portion of theSouth Lanarkshire council area.[2]
As a result of theFirst Periodic Review of Scottish Parliament Boundaries the boundaries of the region and constituencies were redrawn for the2011 Scottish Parliament election.

Eight of the constituencies are entirely within theGlasgow City council area. The Rutherglen constituency comprises the extreme north-western part of theSouth Lanarkshire council area which is part of theGreater Glasgow urban area.[3] The South Lanarkshire area is otherwise divided between theCentral Scotland andSouth of Scotland regions.

The constituencies were created with the names and boundaries ofWestminster constituencies, as existing in 1999. Scottish Westminster constituencies were mostly replaced with new constituencies in 2005.[4] Holyrood constituencies were unaltered.
