Giulio Cappelli (Italian pronunciation:[ˈdʒuːljokapˈpɛlli]; 4 March 1911 – 16 December 1995) was an Italianfootballer who played as aforward. He competed in the1936 Summer Olympics with theItaly national football team, winning a gold medal in the tournament.[1]
Born inLa Spezia, Cappelli began his football career with local sideSpezia. He joinedSerie A sideLivorno for two seasons beginning in 1933. The next season, he transferred toSerie B clubF.C. Esperia Viareggio. Cappelli returned to Serie A withS.S.D. Sporting Lucchese and finished his playing career with Spezia.[2]
Cappelli made two appearances forItaly in 1936, scoring one goal. He was a member of theItalian Olympic team, which won the gold medal in the1936 Olympic football tournament.
On 16 December 1995, Cappelli died at his home in Marina di Massa aged 84.[2]
