"Girl from Ipanema Goes to Greenland" is the second single from the fourth studio albumBouncing Off the Satellites by Americannew wave bandthe B-52's. The single peaked at No. 10 on theBillboardHot Dance Club Play, their fourth Top 10 entry on that chart.[2] It was one of the last songs that guitarist and founding memberRicky Wilson recorded with the band before his death.[3] The song title refers toAntônio Carlos Jobim's 1963 hit song "The Girl from Ipanema".
