Giles Ene Malachi Phillips (born June 22, 1997) is an American professionalsoccer player who plays as acentral defender forNational League South clubHornchurch.
Born inChicago, Illinois,[2] Phillips joinedQueens Park Rangers from FC Barrington USA in June 2017,[3] signing a new contract in February 2019.[4] He had previously played college soccer forCarthage College between 2015 and 2016,[5] becoming their first ever player to sign an international professional contract.[6]
He moved on loan toWycombe Wanderers in July 2019.[7][8]
After being released by QPR at the end of the 2019–20 season,[9] Phillips joined Wycombe permanently on August 20, 2020, on a one-year deal.[10][11]
In November 2020, Phillips joinedNational League sideAldershot Town on loan until January 2021.[12][13] On February 23, 2021, Phillips renewed his loan withAldershot Town for an additional month.[14]
On May 12, 2021, it was announced that Phillips would leave Wycombe Wanderers, having not had his contract renewed.[15]
He returned toAldershot Town in June 2021 on a two-year contract.[16]
In January 2023 he signed for Irish clubWaterford.[17]
Phillips joinedOxford City in February 2024.[18]
In June 2024, following Oxford City's relegation, Phillips joined National League sideEbbsfleet United.[19] In October 2024, he joinedNational League South clubHornchurch on loan until January 2025.[20] He departed Ebbsfleet by mutual consent on January 6, 2025.[21] On January 8, he joined Hornchurch on a permanent basis.[22]
Phillips has an English father and a Nigerian mother.[3]
