Gila Crossing (O'odham:Kuiwa) is acensus-designated place (CDP) inMaricopa County,Arizona, United States, within theGila River Indian Community south ofKomatke. The population was 636 at the2020 census.[3]
The community is on the southern side of thePhoenix metropolitan area, in the valley of theGila River. It is bordered to the north by Komatke andSt. Johns, while the community ofSanta Cruz is 3 miles (5 km) to the south, across the Gila River inPinal County.Downtown Phoenix is 16 miles (26 km) to the northeast.

As of thecensus[6] of2010, there were 621 people living in the CDP. Thepopulation density was 714.5 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the CDP was 84%Native American, 3%White, 1%Black orAfrican American, 1% fromother races, and 11% from two or more races. 15% of the population wereHispanic orLatino of any race.
Gila River Transit connects Gila Crossing withKomatke andMaricopa Colony.[7]
