Gian Paolo Gobbo (born 1 April 1949) is an Italian politician. He is the President ofLiga Veneta, the "national" section ofLega Nord in Veneto.[1]
In 1978–1980, he was a founding member of Liga Veneta. In 1990 and 1995, he was elected to theRegional Council of Veneto[2] and wasVice President of Veneto from 1994 to 1995.
Gobbo was amember of the European Parliament for the Lega Nord from 1999 to 2004 and then, again, from 2006 to 2009.[3]
He wasMayor of Treviso from 2003 to 2013.[4]
In January 2010, Gobbo was indicted along with 35 other members of the Lega Nord on charges relating to an attempt to form an armed criminal gang during the late 1990s.[5]
