Gia Nghĩa is the Provincial city ofĐắk Nông Province, in theCentral Highlands ofVietnam. It is located on the main road northward toBuôn Ma Thuột.^[2][3]

Its present nameGia Nghĩa from the original name inJarai language:Yăgrai (means "the water dragon"). It was changed by PresidentNgô Đình Diệm's policy in 1957.
