Gherome Eric Angeles Ejercito (Tagalog pronunciation:[ʔɛˌhɛːɾ.sɪˈto]; born 19 March 1977) is a Filipino former professionalbasketball player.[1] He last played for theRain or Shine Elasto Painters in thePhilippine Basketball Association.[2] He first played from thePampanga Dragons in theMetropolitan Basketball Association, then won the championship team in 1998 and later played for theSan Juan Knights in 1999. He is the son of actorJorge Ejercito ("George Estregan") and the half-brother of actor-politiciansE. R. Ejercito andGary Estrada.
After his PBA career, Ejercito played for the rookie teamBureau of Customs Transformers in theUNTV CupSeason 5.[3] He was hailed Best Player of the Game twice, with one of them because of his half-court buzzer beater game-winning shot against theHouse of Representatives Solons.[4] His team reached the semifinals, ending up in fourth place and donating₱500,000 to their beneficiaryCaritas Manila, Inc.[5]
In2016, Ejercito ran forboard member of1st district ofLaguna underUnited Nationalist Alliance. However, he lost, placing 6th out of the 3 seats up for election.[6]
