Ancient city of the Troad

Gergitha (Ancient Greek:Γέργιθα) orGergetha (Ancient Greek:Γέργεθα), also known asGergina (Ancient Greek:Γέργινα)[1] andGergithus,Gergithium orGergithion, was a town inancient Lydia, nearStratonicea, at the sources of theCaicus River,[2] said to have been peopled by the inhabitants ofGergis in theTroad by King Attalus of Pergamus.[3]

Cephalon (Ancient Greek:Κεφάλων) of Gergitha, was an ancient writer.[4]

Its site is tentatively located nearYirca,Asiatic Turkey.[5][6]
