Georgios Papadopoulos (Greek:Γεώργιος Παπαδόπουλος;Lechouri, d. 1854), known asGeorgios Lechouritis (Γεώργιος Λεχουρίτης) was a fighter of theGreek Revolution.
He was born in the village ofLechouri, where his family's historic tower still stands. His brothers were Anagnostis and Nikolaos.[1] As the commander of a force from Kalavryta, he participated in the battles of Levidi,Lalas,Dervenakia, Nafplion, andValtetsi. He fought during all three ofIbrahim Pasha's invasions inKalavryta, and mainly in the villages ofSopoto και Karnesi.[2] He fought in thesiege of the Acropolis in 1827, where he was wounded in the leg.[3] He died of cholera in 1854 in Lechouri, where during the last years of his life.[4]
