Georgi Vangelov (born 29 July 1993) is a Bulgarianfreestyle wrestler. He is a three-time bronze medalist at theEuropean Wrestling Championships.[2][3] He also represented Bulgaria at the2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.[4]

Career

In 2016, Vangelov won one of the bronze medals in themen's freestyle 57 kg event at theEuropean Wrestling Championships held in Riga, Latvia.[3]

In 2020, Vangelov won one of the bronze medals in the men's 61 kg event at theIndividual Wrestling World Cup held in Belgrade, Serbia.[5][6]

He lost his bronze medal match in themen's 57 kg event at the2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.[4]

Vangelov won one of the bronze medals in themen's 61 kg event at the2022 European Wrestling Championships held in Budapest, Hungary.[2][7] He lost his bronze medal match in the61 kg event at the2022 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.[8]

He lost his bronze medal match in themen's 61 kg event at the2024 European Wrestling Championships held in Bucharest, Romania.[9] He competed at the2024 European Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan hoping to qualify for the2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.[10] He was eliminated in his second match and he did not qualify for the Olympics.[10]
