George Travis (born 1741 inRoyton – died 1797 inHampstead) wasArchdeacon of Chester[1] from his installation on 27 November 1786[2] until his death on 24 February 1797.[3]
Travis was educated atManchester Grammar School andSt John's College, Cambridge. He wasordaineddeacon on 3 March 1765; andpriest on 22 December 1765. He held livings atEastham,[4]Bromborough[5] andHandley.[6]
