George Russell Manners (25 January 1938 – August 2021) was a British/Vincentian male weightlifter who competed for England.

Weightlifting career

Manners represented Great Britain at the1964 Summer Olympics finishing in 15th place in the light-heavyweight category.[1]

He representedEngland and finished fifth in the -60 kg combined category at the1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games inCardiff, Wales.[2] He won twosilver medals at the1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games and the1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games respectively.[3][4][5]

Personal life

He migrated to England in 1957 and was a plumber by trade.[1] He died in August 2021 at the age of 83.[6]
