George I of Constantinople (Greek:Γεώργιος; died January or February 686) was theEcumenical Patriarch of Constantinople from 679 to 686.[1] He was succeeded, after a one-year bishopric and interlude of a reign by patriarchTheodore I of Constantinople.[2]
George I is commemorated in theEastern Orthodox Church as asaint, with hisfeast day being 18 August.[3]
