Georg Kippels (born 21 September 1959) is a German lawyer and politician of theChristian Democratic Union (CDU) who has been serving as a member of theBundestag from the state ofNorth Rhine-Westphalia since 2013.
In addition to his work in parliament, Kippels has been serving as aParliamentary State Secretary at theGerman Ministry of Health in thegovernment ofChancellorFriedrich Merz since 2025.[1]
Kippels first became a member of the Bundestag in the2013 German federal election.[2] From 2013 to 2025, he served on the Health Committee on Health and the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development.[3][4] In 2018, he also joined the newly established Sub-Committee on Global Health.
In addition to his committee assignments, Kippels serves as the deputy chairman of the German-Mexican Parliamentary Friendship Group.
In June 2017, Kippels voted against Germany's introduction ofsame-sex marriage.[8]
