Geoffrey Benedict Clifton-Brown (25 July 1899 – 17 November 1983)[1] was aConservative Party politician in England.
His father, one-timeHigh Sheriff of Buckinghamshire Edward Clifton-Brown,[2] was a son ofJames Clifton Brown MP.[3] He was schooled atEton College, and duringWorld War II, he fought with the12th Lancers, attaining the rank oflieutenant-colonel.[4]
He was elected at the1945 general election asmember of parliament (MP) forBury St Edmunds,[5] and held the seat until the1950 general election, when he did not seek re-election and was succeeded by ConservativeWilliam Aitken.
He had three children, and his grandson, alsoGeoffrey Clifton-Brown, followed him into the House of Commons.[6]
