TheGeneral Staff of the Israel Defense Forces orGeneral Headquarters (Hebrew:המטה הכללי של צה"ל), abbreviatedMatkal (מטכ"ל), is the supreme command of theIsrael Defense Forces. It is based in theKirya compound (Rabin Camp) inTel Aviv.
