General Coffee State Park is a 1,511-acre (6.11 km2)Georgiastate park located nearDouglas. The park is named after politician, farmer, and military leader GeneralJohn E. Coffee.[1] The park is host to many rare andendangered species, especially in the cypressswamps through which the Seventeen Mile River winds.[2]
Attractions include acorn crib,tobacco barn, andcane mill. Visitors can stay overnight at the Burnham House, a renovated and elegantly redecorated 19th-century cabin.
