TheGe orGejia language (Chinese:𱎼家语), also known asChong'anjiang Miao (Chinese:重安江苗语), is aWest Hmongic language ofHuangping County, Guizhou, China. The endonym is spelledMhong, though it shares this withHuishui Miao; it is pronounced[m̥ōŋ], as in theHmong language. When speaking Chinese, they call themselvesGédōu.
Gejia is spoken in eastern Guizhou, in speech islands within theHmu language (Qiandong Miao 黔东苗语) area.Dongjia, spoken nearby inMajiang County, is closely related to Gejia.[2]
Sun (2017)[3] lists the following locations for Chong'anjiang Miao, and gives a speaker population estimate of 40,000.
