Gazkhan is avillage in theWakhan District ofBadakhshan Province in north-easternAfghanistan.[1] It is located at the confluence of thePanj River andWakhan River.[2] Ghazkhan is the starting point of the Grand Pamir Road in Afghanistan, which is under construction.[1] The village is also the starting point for treks into theGreat Pamir.[3]
Gazkhan is mostly inhabited by theWakhi people. The population of the village was reported in 2003 as being only 149.[4] The nearest populated places to Gazkhan areKhandud to the southwest andSarhad to the east.
