Gatum Gatum (1958−1985) was an AustralianThoroughbredracehorse who won the 1963Melbourne Cup.
Despite winning the 1961SAJCSouth Australian Derby as a three-year-old and a second placing in the 1963Caulfield Cup he carried just 7st 12lb (50kg) to victory in the Cup.[1]
His owner, Malcolm Reid had bred the 1945Melbourne Cup winnerRainbird but had sold her as afilly to his brother Clifford.[2]
