Gary Christofer Kagelmacher Pérez (born 21 April 1988) is a Uruguayan professionalfootballer who plays as aright-back or acentral defender for Uruguayan clubMontevideo City Torque.

Club career

Born inMontevideo of German descent, Kagelmacher began his professional career with local clubDanubio FC. In 2007, aged 19, he was loaned toReal Madrid Castilla in the SpanishSegunda División B, being first choice from an early stage; the move was made permanent at the end of hisfirst season.

In the last match of the2008–09 campaign, Kagelmacher made hisLa Liga debut withReal Madrid, starting in a 2–1 away loss againstCA Osasuna.[2][3] In the summer of 2010, he was loaned toK.F.C. Germinal Beerschot of theBelgian Pro League.[4]

Kagelmacher agreed to a permanent four-year contract at Beerschot on 6 May 2011. In the followingtransfer window, however, he moved countries again and signed withAS Monaco FC of the FrenchLigue 2.[5]

On 30 June 2014, Kagelmacher joinedTSV 1860 Munich on a three-year deal, arriving fromValenciennes FC.[6] He scored his first goals for his new team on 8 March of the following year, but in a 3–2 home defeat toSV Sandhausen.[7]

Afterone season in theIsraeli Premier League withMaccabi Haifa F.C. and two and a half in the Belgian top division at the service ofK.V. Kortrijk,[8] the 31-year-old Kagelmacher returned to his homeland in the 2020 Januarytransfer window after signing withPeñarol.[9] He competed abroad subsequently, withClub León in the MexicanLiga MX[10] andClub Deportivo Universidad Católica in theChilean Primera División.[11]

In January 2025, Kagelmacher was announced atMontevideo City Torque.[12]

International career

Kagelmacher played for theUruguay under-17 side at the2005 FIFA World Championship.[13] Two years later, he appeared withthe under-20s at the2007 World Cup.[14]
