Garden Reach Assembly constituency was aLegislative Assembly constituency ofSouth 24 Parganas district in theIndianstate ofWest Bengal. It ceased to exist as a constituency from 2011.
As a consequence of the orders of theDelimitation Commission, whileKolkata Port Assembly constituency came into existence in 2011, Garden Reach Assembly constituency ceased to exist from the same year.[1]
It was part ofDiamond Harbour (Lok Sabha constituency).[2]

In the2006 state assembly elections[3] Abdul Khaleque Molla ofCongress won the 114 Garden Reach assembly seat defeating his nearest rivalMohammed Amin ofCPI(M). Mohammed Amin of CPI(M) defeated Fazle Azim Molla ofTrinamool Congress in 2001[4] and of Congress in 1996.[5] Fazle Azim Molla of Congress defeated Dilip Sen of CPI(M) in 1991[6] and Mohammed Amin of CPI(M) in 1987.[7] Shamsuzzoha of Congress defeated Chhedilal Singh of CPI(M) in 1982.[8] Chhedilal Singh of CPI(M) defeated S.M. Abdullah of Congress in 1977.[9][10]
Chhedilal Singh of CPI(M) won in 1972.[11] S.M. Abdullah of Congress won in 1971.[12] Arun Sen ofCPI won in 1969.[13] S.M.Abdullah of Congress won in 1967[14] and1962.[15] Shaikh Abduallah Farooquie of CPI won in1957.[16] S.M. Abdullah of Congress won inindependent India’s first election in 1951.[17]
