G protein-coupled receptor family C group 6 member A (GPRC6A) is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theGPRC6Agene.[5] This protein functions as a receptor ofL-α-amino acids,[6]cations (e.g.,calcium),[7]osteocalcin,[8] andsteroids.[9] It is amembrane androgen receptor.

Clinical significance

[edit]

GPRC6A has also been linked toprostate cancer progression, and it has been shown to mediate rapid, non-genomic prostate cancer cell responses totestosterone.[10]
