GNU Bazaar (formerlyBazaar-NG, command line toolbzr) is adistributed andclient–serverrevision control system sponsored byCanonical.
Bazaar can be used by a single developer working on multiplebranches of local content, or by teams collaborating across a network.
Bazaar is written in thePython programming language, with packages for majorLinux distributions,Mac OS X andMicrosoft Windows. Bazaar is free software and in 2008 became part of theGNU Project.[4][5] It was used by Canonical for their Launchpad code hosting website. The last release was in 2016. In 2025 Canonical announced the retirement of Bazaar.[6]Breezy is a fork of Bazaar.
Bazaar is an official GNU project, licensed under the GPLv2 or later, at your option.
