Further Definitions is a 1962jazzalbum byBenny Carter and his orchestra, rereleased onCD in 1997 coupled with his follow-up album, 1966'sAdditions to Further Definitions. The earlier album features an all-star octet that includesColeman Hawkins, with whom Carter had recorded inParis in 1937, using the same configuration of instruments: foursaxophones,piano,guitar,bass, anddrums.[1][2]
