Fukio Mitsuji (三辻 富貴朗,Mitsuji Fukio; 1960–2008),[2] also known as "MTJ", was a Japanesegame designer andartist.

Mitsuji is best known for his work atTaito, where he created popular arcadeplatform gameBubble Bobble and its follow-upRainbow Islands. He later ran a game design school,[3] and worked freelance creating games such asMagical Puzzle Popils forGame Gear.

According to reports from Japanese Bubble Bobble forums, Mitsuji died on December 11, 2008, at the age of 48. The cause was attributed to cardiopulmonary arrest caused by kidney problems.[4]
