Freden (German pronunciation:[ˈfʁeːdn̩]) is a village and a municipality in thedistrict of Hildesheim, inLower Saxony,Germany. It is situated on the riverLeine, approx. 25 km south ofHildesheim. Since 1 November 2016, the former municipalitiesEverode,Landwehr andWinzenburg are part of the municipality Freden.[3]
Freden was the seat of the formerSamtgemeinde ("collective municipality")Freden.
