Fred Pfeil

John Frederick Pfeil (1949–2005) was an Americanliterary critic andnovelist. Pfeil (pronounced "file") was born September 21 inPort Allegany, Pennsylvania. He earned an undergraduate degree atAmherst College in 1971 and an M.A. atStanford University in 1973. He taught at Stanford,Stephens College,Oregon State University, andTrinity College (Connecticut).[1]

Pfeil was diagnosed withmelanoma in February 2005 and died inHartford, Connecticut on 29 November 2005.
