Town in Saxony, Germany
Frankenberg (German pronunciation:[ˈfʁaŋkn̩ˌbɛʁk]ⓘ; also:Frankenberg/Sa.) is a town in the district ofMittelsachsen, inSaxony,Germany. It is situated on the riverZschopau, 12 km (7.46 mi) northeast ofChemnitz, and some 40 km (24.85 mi) north of the border to theCzech Republic.
It was the site of the Nazi concentration campSachsenburg.
