Francis Jacob Harper (March 5, 1800 – March 18, 1837) was an American politician fromPennsylvania who served as aDemocratic member of thePennsylvania House of Representatives from 1832 to 1833, thePennsylvania State Senate for the2nd district from 1834 to 1836 and as representative-elect to theU.S. House of Representatives forPennsylvania's 3rd congressional district. He died before Congress was called to session.
Francis J. Harper was born inFrankford, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Jacob and Susannah (Deal) Harper.[1]
He was a member of thePennsylvania House of Representatives from 1832 to 1833,[2] and served in thePennsylvania State Senate from 1834 to 1836.[3]
Harper was elected as a Democrat to theTwenty-fifth Congress, but died in Frankford in 1837, before the assembling of Congress.
