Fourphit, also known as4-isothiocyanato-PCP, is anirreversibledopamine transporter (DAT)blocker and a reversibleNMDA receptor antagonist.[1][2] It blocks the binding ofmethylphenidate to the DATin vitro,[1] though apparently notin vivo.[2] In any case, the drug reduces thestimulant-like effects ofcocaine in animals,[2] whilst producing mostly negligible behavioral effects itself.[2] Fourphit is anacylatingderivative ofphencyclidine (PCP) and apositional isomer ofmetaphit (3-isothiocyanato-PCP).[1]
