Forearm (Michael McCain) is a fictionalmutant villain appearing inAmerican comic books published byMarvel Comics. As a member of theMutant Liberation Front, Forearm has always been a mainstay on the terrorist group's roster, even staying through leader changes and incarceration.
Forearm first made a minor cameo appearance as a member of theMutant Liberation Front inThe New Mutants #86 (February 1990). He first fully appeared in the following issue,The New Mutants #87.
Forearm is a founding member of theMutant Liberation Front (MLF), a mutant terrorist organization. One of the group's first missions under the leadership ofStryfe is to liberate incarceratedNew Mutants membersRusty Collins andSkids, who join the MLF out of confusion and are kept in the group via neural implants that influence their minds.[1]
Forearm and the MLF approachMister Sinister and propose a trade, taking the captiveCyclops andJean Grey in exchange for Sinister taking theLegacy Virus from Stryfe.[2] The MLF are later defeated by theX-Men and taken into custody.[volume & issue needed]
Following the events of "X-Cutioner's Song",Reignfire forms a new incarnation of the MLF which consists of Forearm,Reaper,Wildside,Tempo, and new membersLocus andDanielle Moonstar.[3] Forearm forms a close friendship with Moonstar, but eventually discovers that she was an undercover agent working forS.H.I.E.L.D. Feeling betrayed, Forearm leaves the MLF.[4]
Forearm later appears as a participant in Bloodsport, a fighting championship inMadripoor. He is killed during a fight withSerpent Society memberAnaconda, who breaks his neck.[5] Forearm later appears alive as a member of the MLF, with no explanation as to how he survived.[6]
During theKrakoan Age, Forearm joins the Security Team ofS.W.O.R.D. andMagik'sDark Riders.[7][8]
Forearm has an additional set of arms that extend from beneath his first set, giving him four arms. He also possesses increased strength, resistance to injury, and stamina.
An alternate universe version of Forearm from Earth-21993 appears inWhat If #47 as a member of the Mutant Liberation Front, whichMagneto takes leadership of after killing Stryfe. Forearm is later killed in an explosion.[9]
Forearm makes non-speaking cameo appearances inX-Men: The Animated Series. This version is an inhabitant of Skull Mesa and member ofMagneto's army.
