Ford Duratec engine is a line of engines used byFord of Europe and United States for the company's range ofgasoline-poweredI3,I4,I5 andV6 passenger car engines. The first Duratec engine was co-designed byFord andPorsche[1] and introduced as theDuratec V6 in the 1993Ford Mondeo.

Ford would subsequently brand other gasoline engines unrelated to the original V6 with theDuratec name. TheFord Zeta engine,Ford Sigma engine andFord Cyclone engine all carry the Duratec name, but are otherwise unrelated to each other or the original 1993 Duratec V6. The ambiguous use of the name is similar to Ford's use of theZetec for the previous generation of gasoline engines, theDuratorq name for diesel engines, andEcoBoost for turbocharged gasoline engines.
