Florian Mennigen (born 10 April 1982 inRatzeburg) is a German former representative rower. He is a three time world champion and an Olympic gold medallist.

At the2012 Summer Olympics in London, he was in the crew – the Deutschlandachter- that won the gold medal in themen's eight competition.

Personal

Mennigen is an alumnus ofBoston University.[1] Following his 2012 Olympic success he was awarded theSilbernes Lorbeerblatt (Silver Laurel Leaf), Germany's highest sports award, for the achievement.[2]
