Florence Fabricant is afood critic andfood writer. She has authored multiple cookbooks and has regularly contributed toThe New York Times since 1980. Fabricant lives inManhattan, New York andEast Hampton, New York.
Fabricant received her undergraduate degree fromSmith College.[1] She received anM.A. degree inFrench fromNew York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 1962.[2]
In 1972, Fabricant began her journalistic career, writing for the "In Season" column forThe East Hampton Star.[3] That same year, she began contributing toThe New York Times. She became a regularTimes contributor in 1980.[4] She holds aL'Ordre National du Mérite from the French government.[1]
Her works with The Society ofMemorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center helped raise money for cancer care, research, and treatment.[5]
