Flagstaff High School (FHS) is a secondary school inFlagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff High School has been opened to the public since 1923. FHS is a four-year publichigh school of approximately 1,500students. The students are primarily of fiveethnic groups:White,Native American,Hispanic,Asian, andAfrican-American. Approximately 50percent of the students areminorities; 147 are from variousNative American tribes and live at theBureau of Indian Affairs KinLani Dormitory.[3] Thestudent body represents a broadsocio-economic range fromlow income toupper middle class. Each year approximately 50 percent of thegraduatesenroll in four-yearcolleges anduniversities and 25 percent in two-yearinstitutions.

Attendance boundary and supplementary dormitory

In addition to sections of Flagstaff, the school serves sections of theNavajo Reservation:Birdsprings,Leupp, andTolani Lake.[4][5][6]

It also includesBellemont,Fort Valley,Kachina Village,Mormon Lake,Mountainaire,Munds Park, andOak Creek Canyon, as well as portions ofBlue Ridge.[7][8]

There is a tribally-controlled dormitory facility contracting with theBureau of Indian Education (BIE),[9] Flagstaff Bordertown Dormitory, which houses Native American students who attend Flagstaff High.[10]

Prior to the establishment ofSedona-Oak Creek Unified School District, Flagstaff High directly includedSedona in its attendance boundary, and took students from theRed Rock school district, which did not operate any schools.[11]
