fflick was awebsite devoted to reviews, information, and news offilms based on information collected onTwitter. fflick was launched in August 2010 by Kurt Wilms and three other formerDigg employees.[1] It was acquired by Google in January 2011 and discontinued.[2]
Similar to howRotten Tomatoes orMetacritic aggregates movie reviews of new releases, fflick gatheredtweets about a particular film in one place.[3] The site categorized tweets into positive or negative reactions.[4] It also allowed users to buy movie tickets, add certain films to theirNetflix queues, and retweet other's tweets.[5] You can also check out what certain “influential” users ofTwitter think of certain films — a distinction that's made by comparing the number of one's followers versus the number of people they follow.[6]
