Ferdinand Oswald (born 5 October 1990) is a German former professionalfootballer who played as agoalkeeper, spending most of his career withWSG Tirol.[1]
Oswald joinedBayern Munich in 2004, and was promoted tothe reserve team five years later. He made his debut in a3. Liga match againstWerder Bremen II in November 2009. His third appearance for the team was as an outfield player – for the second game of the 2010–11 season, Bayern II had a player shortage, and Oswald was one of only two players on the substitutes bench. The other sub,Thomas Kurz had already come on when strikerSaër Sène suffered an injury, so Oswald came on and played the remainder of the game inmidfield. The match, againstWacker Burghausen, ended in a 1–1 draw. He was released by Bayern at the end of the 2010–11 season and signed for Austrian sideWSG Wattens. A year later he returned to Germany to sign forSchalke 04 II. Oswald returned to WSG Wattens in 2014.
In May 2024, following twospinal disc herniations, Oswald announced he would retire from playing at the end of the 2023–24 season.[2]
