Fenethazine (INN; brand namesAnergen,Contralergial,Ethysine,Etisine,Lisergan,Lysergan; former developmental codesRP-3015,SC-1627, andWY-1143; also known asphenethazine) is a first-generationantihistamine of thephenothiazine group.[1]Promethazine andchlorpromazine, were derived from fenethazine.[2] Fenethazine, in turn, was derived fromphenbenzamine.[3]
