On 17 February 2020, asuicide bombing occurred inQuetta,Balochistan, Pakistan.[1] The attacker was on a motorcycle anddetonated his bomb aspolice tried to stop him entering aSunni extremist religious rally near a press club.[1] At least 10 people - including two police officers - were killed and another 35 people were injured.[1]

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.[1] Quetta is frequently attacked by Sunni Islamists as well as by Baloch separatist insurgents.[1]
