With a land area of 0.46 km2 (0.18 sq mi), it had a population density of130.4/km2 (337.8/sq mi) in 2021.[1]
As a designated place in the2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Fawcett had a population of 69 living in 31 of its 37 total private dwellings, a change of-5.5% from its 2011 population of 73. With a land area of 0.45 km2 (0.17 sq mi), it had a population density of153.3/km2 (397.1/sq mi) in 2016.[18]
Fawcett is the hometown of professional hockey player and actor Ross Smith. Ross portrayed the character Barclay Donaldson in the 1977 movieSlap Shot. Casey Fawcett, the previous World Record holder for most glasses held in a single hand,[19] is also a resident of Fawcett.
