History

[edit]

"Fatherland" was founded on 19 January 2017 inNorth Mitrovica by the formerAutonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija board members of theDemocratic Party,Serbian Progressive Party, and theSocialist Party of Serbia.[4] The first president of the organisation was Aleksandar Vasić. In 2018,Slaviša Ristic was selected as the president.[2]

The organisation was a member of theAlliance for Serbia, a major opposition alliance in Serbia, during its existence.[5] The organisation has criticised theSerb List for participating in the Kosovan elections, and for joining theGovernment of Kosovo.[3] The organisation boycotted the2019 Kosovan parliamentary elections as it claims that participating in the Kosovan elections violates the constitution of Serbia, and it called for the boycott of the2020 Serbian parliamentary elections.[6][7]

"Fatherland" endorsed presidential candidateZdravko Ponoš and theUnited for the Victory of Serbia (Ujedinjeni za pobedu Srbije, UZPS) coalition in the2022 Serbian general election.[8]
