A major coal mining project ofEastern Coalfields Limited (Rajmahal open cast project, a part ofRajmahal coalfield) is going on inBoarijore,Mahagama andSunderpahari CD blocks ofGodda district inJharkhand.[1] Rajmahal open cast project (earlier known asLalmatia Colliery) supplies coal to the Farakka Super Thermal Power Station and the 2,340 MWKahalgaon Super Thermal Power Station.[2] Coal import fromIndonesia for Farakka Super Thermal Power Plant byFarakka Port andNational Waterway 1 .Jindal ITF Limited coal carry by barge fromHaldia Port toFarakka.[3]
