Fantasy fandom is afandom and commonality of fans of thefantasy genre.^[1]^[2] It revolves around popularmedia franchises belonging to the fantasy genre^[3] and can include collective fan works of these fantasy franchises and events that celebrate franchises of the genre^[4] as well as characters belonging to that genre.^[5]

Examples offan clubs devoted to stories and franchises of fantasy and include Disneyana fanclub,^[6] andThe Tolkien Society in appreciation of works byJ. R. R. Tolkien.^[7] Fandom communities also exist on the Internet.^[8]
