Fabrício Bento da Silva (born 1 May 1975), known asFabrício Bento or justFabrício, is a Brazilian professionalfootballcoach and former player who played as acentral defender.
Born inSão Paulo, Fabrício began his career with hometown sidePortuguesa. In 2002, after loans atSão José-SP,Avaí andMogi Mirim, he moved abroad withBeitar Jerusalem in Israel.
Fabrício returned to his home country in 2003, withCorinthians Alagoano, but returned to Israel in the following year after signing forMaccabi Ahi Nazareth. He then representedAnapolina for a short period before returning to Beitar Jerusalem.
After a short period back at Anapolina, Fabrício subsequently played forJuventus-SP before joiningSérie A sideJuventude in April 2006.[1] Initially a starter, he lost his starting spot and moved to Avaí in June 2007.[2]
On 5 February 2009, Fabrício was presented atCatanduvense.[3] He signed forSendas in the following year, and retired in 2011 at the age of 35.
Shortly after retiring, Fabrício was appointed head coach ofEsporte Clube Biguaçu [pt],[4] and won the third division of theCampeonato Catarinense. In 2013, after a period working as an assistant coach atOperário Ferroviário, he returned to Avaí and was named head coach of the under-15 squad.[5]
Fabrício worked as coach of the under-17 and under-20 squads, before being named interim head coach of the main squad on 7 February 2022, after the departure ofClaudinei Oliveira.[6]
Fabrício was an interim of Avaí on two further occasions, before leaving the club at the end of the 2023 season. On 2 July 2024, he returned to his first club Portuguesa after being named head coach of the under-20 team.[7]
