F5ve (stylized inlower case and pronounced "fi-vee"[1]) is a Japanesegirl group formed in 2022 asSG5 (short forSailor Guardians 5) byLDH. The group's five members are Sayaka, Rui, Ruri,Kaede, and Miyuu and it is executive produced byBloodPop.

As SG5, the group was based around the manga series and franchiseSailor Moon. They released their debut single, "Firetruck", in 2023 before rebranding as F5ve in 2024, when they released the singles "Lettuce" and "Underground". As of 2024[update], the group is signed toThree Six Zero Recordings.

History

Prior to the formation of F5ve, its members Sayaka and Kaede were both members of theLDH girl groupE-girls and its subgroupHappiness, which was led by Miyuu and also contained Ruri. Rui debuted in 2021 as a member of the girl group iScream,[2][3] and had also been a member of groups Deluxe Colors! and Kizzy. She had additionally released a body of solo work before joining F5ve.[4]

As SG5, the group was initially based on the manga franchiseSailor Moon and frequently performed for its creatorNaoko Takeuchi during its formation to be able to officially use the franchise'sintellectual property.[5] They held their first performance as SG5, which became the first girl group officially based onSailor Moon, atAnime Central inIllinois in May 2022.[6] They officially debuted in the United States in June 2022 and were signed toWME in September 2022.[7][8] AtAnime Expo inLos Angeles in July 2022, the group performed two shows. Their debut single, "Firetruck", was released with a music video in February 2023 and produced byBloodPop, who became the group's executive producer and creative director.[3][9]

The group made their debut under the name F5ve with the single "Lettuce" in May 2024, also celebratingPride Month in a specialTikTok message with an international audience in the same year.[10][11] Their follow-up single, "Underground", was released in July 2024 throughThree Six Zero Recordings.[12] In October, F5ve released the single "UFO", about a girl so good atclaw machines people think she is an alien. The music video was filmed inAkihabara.[13]

On March 5, 2025, they released the single "Magic Clock", along with announcing the release date of May 5 for their debut album,Sequence 01.[14] The music video for the song was directed by Crystalline Structures Studio and features Tsurugi of the bandPsychic Fever.[15]Sequence 01 is billed to be executive produced byBloodPop, with additional production fromA. G. Cook,Hudson Mohawke and others.[4]
